Recommended learning devices for GSIS students
GSIS parents are free to choose any brand of device as long as it adheres to the minimum requirement that we have set for learning devices. We have chosen the three main device types and outlined some of the strengths and weaknesses of each option that you may wish to consider before you purchase.
Apple MacBookThe MacBook line of laptops have been the preferred choice for many students in GSIS over the years. They are usually more expensive than their windows counterparts but offer sleek design and clean interface. With the addition of Mac Office their is very little you cannot do with these devices.

Chromebooks (UPDATE 2023: Not recommended as these devices are not appropriate for some school software as well as ICT/Computer Science classes)Chromebooks are cloud based devices, which means that they are designed to be online most of the time. They also have most of the data stored in the cloud, not on the device. You really need to be an avid user of Google Drive and Google Chrome for this device to work for you. It has an extremely fast start up time of 5-8 seconds. These devices are currently the device of choice in the US education market.
